DOD Breast Cancer Research Program Needs Your Voice

Did you know that significant amount of U.S. government funding for breast cancer research comes from the Department of Defense budget?  The funding is appropriated by Congress to the Department of Defense (DOD) Breast Cancer Research Program (BCRP), but the DOD BCRP needs to be reappropriated by congressional representatives to continue.

Representatives King (R-NY), McGovern (D-MA), Costello (R-PA) and Hastings (D-FL) are circulating a Dear Colleague Letter, asking House of Representative Members to sign a letter to the Defense Appropriations Subcommittee leadership, supporting level funding for the DOD BCRP.

We urge you to show your support for ending breast cancer by signing the letter to Defense Appropriations Subcommittee Chairman Frelinghuysen and Ranking Member Visclosky calling for $120 million-level funding for the Department of Defense peer-reviewed Breast Cancer Research Program for FY 2016.

This action will let your Representatives know how important the DOD BCRP is to breast cancer research.  Thank you for TAKING ACTION on this important item.
