Team Martina

Remember that beautiful Martina McBride song, I’m going to love you through it, about cancer?
“When you feel lost and scared to death,
Like you can’t take one more step
Just take my hand, together we can do it
I’m gonna love you through it.”
Well just like in the song, Martina McBride’s global charity, Team Martina is dedicated to making the world better through volunteerism and the healing power of music. Along with Director and Co-Founder Sheila Jones, the team goes out on tour with Martina around the country, and they visit cancer centers, homeless shelters, and soup kitchens. Every year at Christmas time, Martina & her fans visit cancer centers to bring gifts & sit with patients during chemo. They also raise money for many different worthy causes.
In Nashville, Martina and her team raised over $40,000 for a cancer research grant to help doctors at Vanderbilt University. In Atlanta, they helped the city begin construction on an innovative new playground and green space for kids living in an urban area that had few playgrounds. In Morgantown, W.Va., they sought out local cancer patients and invited them to Martina’s concert providing them with tickets to the show and backstage passes.

And when this road gets too long
I’ll be the rock you lean on
Just take my hand, together we can do it
I’m gonna love you through it.”
